There are some weddings that stay with you long after the day is over, and this was one of them. With just two weeks’ notice, I had the honor of photographing Deja and Cooner’s intimate woodland wedding on their family’s property. Tucked away in the trees atop a beautiful hill, the ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. What made it even more special was knowing that nearly everything had been built by hand. From the rustic benches where their loved ones gathered to the beautiful wooden arch where they exchanged their vows, every detail reflected the love, dedication, and hard work that had gone into creating a day that was uniquely theirs.
The ceremony itself was nothing short of magical. A woodland-inspired aisle lined with thoughtful details led Deja to the love of her life, surrounded by family and friends who had come together to celebrate them. Although it was one of the hottest days of the season, the moment the ceremony began, the heat seemed to fade into the background. Deja looked absolutely breathtaking in a gown that was clearly meant for her, while her groom looked sharp and couldn’t take his eyes off his bride. Their quiet smiles and heartfelt vows made it impossible not to get caught up in the emotion of the day.
While my coverage ended after the ceremony and portraits, I left feeling incredibly grateful to have been part of such a meaningful celebration. Their families were so kind, welcoming, and patient throughout the day, making it an absolute joy to photograph. Weddings like this are a beautiful reminder that the most memorable celebrations aren’t defined by elaborate venues or extravagant details. They’re created through love, intention, and the people who come together to celebrate a new beginning. It was truly an honor to preserve these memories, and I wish Deja and Conner a lifetime of happiness together.
