Some weddings are special because of the beautiful details, the stunning venue, or the incredible celebration. This wedding was special because it felt like coming home. My husband and I have been together for 18 years. We were married in 2010 and celebrated our wedding with family and friends in 2011. One of the sweetest memories from that day was having little Izabela as our flower girl. So when she reached out years later and asked me to be the photographer for her own wedding, I was overwhelmed with emotion. It truly felt like life had come full circle, and I couldn’t have been more honored to say yes.
Watching Izabela grow from the little girl who scattered flower petals down the aisle at my wedding into the beautiful, confident woman standing beside the love of her life was something I’ll never forget. She and Troy were married on their family’s property in the breathtaking countryside of Washington State, surrounded by the people who have loved and supported them every step of the way. Being there wasn’t just another photography job it was being present as family while also having the privilege of preserving one of the most important days of their lives. I’ll admit, it took everything in me not to cry behind my camera during their vows and the moment they said “I do.”
As the sun set, the celebration transformed into a joyful evening filled with laughter, music, and dancing. Friends and family sang at the top of their lungs, celebrated every moment, and filled the dance floor with so much love and happiness that it was impossible not to smile. Being entrusted to capture Izabela and Troy’s wedding is something I’ll always hold close to my heart, and it remains one of the greatest honors of my career.
